9 Months

Right before we left for PA Rudy turned 9 months old.  We actually took his pictures before we left, but I didn't have time to post them or do his 9 month post.  At his nine month appointment Rudy weighed 18lbs 4 oz, was 27 3/4 in long, and had a head circumference of 46 cm.  Basically, he is a little peanut with a big 'ole melon.  He is wearing mostly 6-12 month clothes, but can still fit in a good number of his 6-9 month clothes.  He is still wearing a size 3 diaper.  He still doesn't have any teeth, but can gum most foods until he can swallow them.  He really likes table food, but isn't incredibly fond of baby food.  I don't really blame him though.  He loves puffs and is so funny when we give them to him.  He goes after them with his mouth instead of trying to pick them up with his hands.  Over the course of the month, though, he has gotten much better with his pincer grasp and his eye-hand coordination is really improving.   He likes to play peek-a-boo with a blanket and laughs and laughs while playing it.  He is the easiest baby to get to smile and laugh.  He is so much fun.  At the very beginning of the month he started crawling and now he is as quick as lightning.  He climbs on everything and tries to go head first off of the bed and the couch all of the time.  He climbs into the dishwasher, onto the laundry basket, and onto the treadmill.  He can pull up on anything and cruises pretty well around the couches.  Earlier in the month he got a cold which caused some pretty restless nights, but now that it is gone everyone is sleeping much better. His seperation anxiety is getting pretty bad, and we are a little bit nervous aobut how things are going to work out when I go back to work soon.  Rudy's personality is really starting to develop and I think that he is going to be alot like his dad.  He likes to make loud noises and loves to be the center of attention.  He is starting to throw pretty big fits when he doesn't get what he wants, but he makes me belly laugh almost every day at the funny things he does.
