Sorry

about being MIA for the past few days.  I've been caught up with McDreamy...quite literally.  I just started watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix.  I'd never seen an episode before and just started from the beginning.  Man am I addicted.  My nursing profs would flip out if they knew I was watching it.  They got so mad everytime people talked about shows like that because they don't accurately portray nursing.  (Which I agree...honestly... how many times has a surgeon given an enema?) But I still love it.  So that's what we've been up to.

Weekend Fun

We had a really busy, but fun, weekend.  I already talked about Friday, so I'll start with Saturday morning.... Josh had church meetings he had to go to all morning, so Rudy and I headed over to the girls county cheerleading competition.  It was so packed that I had to carry Rudy almost half a mile (slight exaggeration) in the freezing cold to get in from our parking spot.  I got to see a couple of people I hadn't seen in awhile so it was pretty fun.  AND the girls did awesome.  They looked better than I had ever seen them.  They got first place and were so excited.  We hung out at home for a few hours and then headed over to Champaign.  We went to Target, which was a nut house because they are remodelling it, then to Walmart to pick up some things for a new recipe I wanted to try.  Then we went over to Becca and Tom's apartment for dinner.  They took a few Thai cooking lessons on their honeymoon, so they cooked us some authentic Thai food.  It was really good.  We played cards for a little bit, but it was short lived because Rudy was pretty fussy.  He has been having some troubles in the digestive arena over the last few days, so he has been pretty cranky.  Sunday morning we got up and went to church, came home and cooked up a little something, and headed over to my mom's house to watch the Bears/Packers game.  We really didn't like any of the teams playing yesterday so I pretty much just went for the food. (And to hang out with family.)  Afterwards, Becca and Tom came over to our house to watch the Steelers/Jets game and order pizza.  Overall, it was a really fun weekend.
Rudy is almost mobile.  Eek.  He has recently figured out that he can roll to get where he needs to go and has started scooting himself backwards across the floor.  He hasn't quite figured out the army crawl, but I think that it will be soon!

Rudy's new favorite toy is Murphy's bone.  It's pretty gross.

New Do

For my Ru.
It's finally long enough for a faux hawk!
I've been waiting about 6 month for this day.

As for that picture of the treadmill.... I didn't take it.
I'm caught up in a love-hate relationship with it right now.
Leaning more towards hate.
It has decided to show me just exactly how out of shape I am.

I'll show it.
Haha.

Tonight we went to my mom's house to have dinner with her, Greg, Becca, and Tom.
Afterwards we got to play cards with Tom and Becca while my mom and Greg watched Rudy.
We played Dutch Blitz and Hands and Feet.
I won both games, not to toot my own horn.
I get pretty competitive with cards and board games, and I sure do love a good win.
It was alot of fun.
Tomorrow morning I am going to watch the cheerleading competition to support the girls that I helped out with earlier this week.  It should be interesting!  I haven't been to a competition in forever.

Whoa. Just looked at the clock and it's definitely past my bedtime.  Goodnight blogland!

Some Good News and Some Bad News

Which do you want first?

The bad?

Okay...I didn't get the job I was hoping for.

I know....bummer.

It's okay.  I'll find a job sometime.  Until then I'll enjoy my time at home with the Dudester.

That means I have to go through interviews all over again.  WOOF.

The good news?

My treadmill comes in the morning!

I'm really excited about it.

I'll be sure to take a picture of it and post it tomorrow.

I guess the bad news kind of overwhelms the good news.

But, I'm really okay with it.

Same 'ole Same

Well, we've been doing the same old thing as always around here.  Don't get me wrong, we've been having fun doing it, but no big news on our front.  We've been hanging around the house and going to alot of basketball games.  This week is the county tournament, and sadly our boys haven't done so well.  Saturday Becca went to the game with me and Rudy, and we took a few pictures.  Unfortunately the picture I took of Becca and the Dude is really blurry.  Rudy was being a bit of a spaz.

This is a common sight.  Rudy loves to eat my face and my arms.  He has even given me a hickey on my face.  Strange child.

He does this thing alot where he tightens every muscle in his body.  It's almost like he has so much stored up energy that he doesn't know how to get rid of it.  He might already have ADHD.  Haha.  Don't worry, I'll hold off on the Ritalin.

And excuse my shabby face in this picture.  All the blemishes are from Rudy scratching me.  He can "do work" with those fingernails.  He was being a ham and making me laugh, though.   Notice the matching monster veins in our foreheads as well.

CLEARLY, I pay very close attention at the games.
I actually usually watch the cheerleaders.  One of the girls that I cheered with in high school is the coach and she asked me to come help them get ready for their competition next weekend.  So yesterday I went for a couple of hours and watched their practice.  It was fun to do something different, and I had a good time laughing at all of the drama.  I am very glad my high school days are over!

Josh and I are enjoying our free month trial of Netflix.  We can stream alot of movies through the Wii so we can see them instantly.  We are finally getting to see the last season of Lost!  We've also gotten to see some movies including The Proposal, 3 Ninjas Kick Back, and A Haunting in Connecticut.  I even watched a documentary on the Amish! Bahaha. I love the Amish, just throwing that out there.

And a few more pictures of the little man, because he is so cute:
Playing with his elephant Aunt Becca and Uncle Tom got him from Thailand.

Taking a nap in Mommy's arms.  Doesn't get much better than that! (At least not for his mom.)

Hello World

We've been shacking up at home in this wintery weather, so we haven't had much to write about.  Let's see, what have we done since I last posted?

*Went to Champaign and bought a treadmill with my Christmas and birthday money that I've been saving for about 2.5 years now.  (Doesn't get delievered until next week, though.  Darn!)
*Took down the Christmas decorations. (Finally)
*Cleaned the house.
*Baked cookies.
*Cooked a few meals.
*Down-graded our Dish package and signed up for a free trial of netflix.  (Goodbye guilty pleasure trashy shows like Jersey Shore and Teen Mom 2... I really will miss you.)
*Went out to get mexican with my boys and Rudy slept through the whole thing = Nice unexpected date night with the hub.
*Rudy has been spending alot of time in his bouncer.  I sometimes feel a little guilty putting him in it, but it is where he most likes to be!

I think that's just about it!  I'll make sure to update when we do something exciting!

Rudy and Murphy

I know I say this all of the time on here, but Rudy absolutely loves Murphy.  Here is another video for proof.  You will need to turn the volume on.   Sorry it is a weird shape, but I shot this with my iPhone.

Christmas Gifts

I lucked out for Christmas this year and got some great gifts!
I'm so excited that I had to share a few of them with you....
I got a gray and white North Face fleece similar to this one.  The only problem is that it is a size too big and I am having a hard time exchanging it for the right size.  It seems that Dick's isn't getting any more winter gear in stock for quite some time! Eek.  I still love it though!

I got this little beauty of an apron.  Isn't it so cool?

A new iPod.  I have a first generation U2 iPod.  It was time for an update!  I got this little nano.. perfect for running snce I'm planning on doing a half marathon at the end of April.  (I'm a little nervous that I actually agreed to run it, haha!)

A Nike + to go with the nano.... so I can track my mileage!
And this sweet cupcake book.  I have the prequel "Hello Cupcake" and I love it.  I have yet to try making anything from either of them, but I anticipate making some for birthday parties!
Like I said.. I made out this Christmas.  Don't be jealous.

Jumpin' Ru

Rudy got a jumper for Christmas.  At first he wasn't so sure about it.  His feet couldn't touch the ground so he was kind of stuck in it.  Apparently he has grown a little bit because about three days ago he figured out how to really get going in it.  Josh and I just sit and watch him and laugh.  It is so cute and funny!

Happy Birthday, Kiptyn!

Today was my nephew's first birthday!  We went over to Tori and Kyle's house for his big party this afternoon.  Let me tell you, the kid can eat.  He dug into his cake and ate almost every crumb.  It was really fun to watch.

We've just been hanging out the rest of the day... ordered pizza and are watching football.  Hoping for a Colt's win!

6 Months

Rudy turned 6 months old last week while we were in PA.  I cannot believe he is half a year old already!  What is he up to these days?  Well, he has recently decided that sleeping through the night isn't as fun as it used to be and is getting up every three to four hours.  He just started eating a few solids and he's not so sure about them.  He really liked rice cereal the first time he tried it, but has since decided that he doesn't like it so much.  He's also tried sweet potatoes and peas.  He is sitting up by himself like a champion with only a few falls here and there.  He isn't quite getting up on his hands and knees yet, but I don't think it will be long before he is army crawling.  He likes to stand by himself holding on to Murphy's crate and gets quite angry if you try to take him away from it.   He got tons of toys for Christmas, but would rather play with tags on pillows and clothes.  His favorite thing to play with, though, is his dog-brother, Murphy.  He still can't get enough of him.  He laughs hysterically when Murphy brings him his toy.  He is 16 pounds, 5 ounces and 26.5 inches long- still measuring right around the 50th percentile.  He is getting to be so much fun and I am excited to see what this next month holds for him!

Home, Sweet Home

Well, we are back from our two week Christmas vacation and trying to get back into the swing of things.  We had a fabulous time visiting our families.  We spent a week in Nashville with my Dad, Pam, and Liana, and a week in PA with Josh's side of the family.  While in Nashville we did lots of shopping, relaxing, and eating.  Josh hit up the mall one morning at 4:00 a.m. to wait in line for the new pair of Jordans to be released.  It was also the first white Christmas Nashville has had in 17 years, so my dad built Rudy his first snowman.  At about 3 p.m. on Christmas day we loaded up the Funk and hit the road for PA.  Rudy was a champ on the 11 hour drive and we only had to stop 3 times total.  In PA we did alot of the same things like shopping, relaxing, and eating.  We all got sick as well:/  Boo:(  We got pictures of Rudy and Colt (Rudy's cousin)  together while we were there too and the pictures were oh-so-cute.   We had alot of fun just hanging out with family and enjoying each other's company.
I just wanted to update you all and let you know that we are all alive and kickin.  We are still recovering from our colds and working on getting the house in order, so I don't have any pictures on my computer yet. But, I will be sure to add them soon so that you all have something to look at.  I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season!
